Lostbost is a light comedy drama set on the Isle of Lewis.
After inheriting a crofthouse from their Aunty Joan, who died in tragic circumstances, we follow the exploits of Angus and Chrissy MacLeod and their family as they leave their council house in Glasgow to begin a new life in rural Lewis. How will Angus cope with crofting life? Will this be a dream come true? All is not always as it seems in Lostbost!
The idea for a comedy drama set in Lewis was conceived over 2 years ago by local writer Billy Matheson and Muriel Ann Macleod, Artistic Director of Theatre Hebrides. The latter commissioned the piece and sourced the necessary funding to produce the work.
Theatre Hebrides was awarded funding in Jan 2008 to make a pilot programme of Lostbost for MG Alba. Filming took place during August and this first episode will be screened on BBCAlba, the new Gaelic satellite channel, on 14 October 2008 with several repeat showings (Check this site).
Theatre Hebrides is committed to promoting the languages, cultures and traditions of the Western Isles while continuing to provide employment opportunities for local people.
